Today is my last day at Sweet Cecily's after almost 2 years! I won't get soppy in a blog post but I only though it was fitting to give you a run down of my favourite products of ours...
As someone who needs a paragraph review on a product to make sure it is actually good, I know how it feels when there’s a product I like the look of, but not knowing if I’ll be wasting my money. I’ve chosen my favourite products of ours that I consistently use and have used for a few months to help you to decide if you think they sound right for you and your skin.
I know I am a broken record at this point, but I’ll never get over how lifechanging our Soothing Skin Cream is to my skin. I’ve mentioned in a few previous blogs how, when I was younger, I was prescribed creams for my Eczema which just ended up burning my skin and making me even more red and blotchy. Since I’ve been working at Sweet Cecily’s, I’ve gave out a fair few sample of this cream and the only feedback I ever get back is positive.
One of its active and one of our most unique ingredients is Propolis, is a resin like substance that comes from plants which is then processed by bees. It is known for its protective response which aims to help the body heal, like when it is irritated and cracked. It also provides many other benefits such as it being antiseptic, antifungal, and antibacterial.
Now I might be a bit bias due to our body scrub being one of my all times faves – which we’ll get back to in this blog…However, I was arguing with myself between this kit or our Make Your Own Face Mask Kit, but I decided to choose this one because I think out of all the kits we have, this is the one that I think I’d enjoy the most if I was gifted.
The kit includes the super moisturising Almond & Vitamin E oil, Walnut shells (for gentle exfoliation) and a caffeine boost of ground coffee. All these powerful yet simple ingredients are sure to nourish and smoothen your skin.
Elderflower & Almond Hand Cream
Before working at Sweet Cecily’s, I never really took any notice of my hands or cared for them. However, after writing all these blog posts about how different ingredients do different things and what skincare can do for hands, I’ve started to take a lot more care for them. My favourite of ours is the Elderflower and Almond Hand Cream just because of the scent – a light floral number. Dorrie and Beth love the Sea Buckthorn Berry Hand Cream which is a fruity/refreshing scent.
Regardless of which scent you prefer, it’s fair to say we all love the rich consistency of our hand creams and how moisturised they feel after application.
Like I said previously in the, Make Your Own Body Scrub Kit section, our Body Scrub truly is one of my favourite products. This product is one of my latest purchases and quickly became one of my all time faves. I’ve never really used a scrub on myself until I wrote my blog, ‘Is Exfoliating Your Skin Necessary?’, when I decided, I probably should be exfoliating. The Body Scrub is a top pick not only for it being a great exfoliator, but also the citrus scent, so yummy!!!
Dorrie also says “I’ve worked for Sweet Cecily’s for a number of years now and I remember a time in which a lot of other companies were still using microbeads (little bits of plastic!) in their face and body scrubs. I’ve always been so proud of the fact we have always used ground walnut shells instead, even when microbeads were not banned. I strongly believe that skincare should never be harmful to our planet.”
Dorrie’s Pick:
Sea Buckthorn and Frankincense Night Cream – This little pot of beautiful goodness is a saviour for my skin. I have quite oily skin but also get dry patches and it works wonders in terms of hydrating the bits that need it the most, but also not adding to the oiliness of my face. The essential oils smell amazing, which is a bonus!
